Serum and heparinized plasma are now the only acceptable sample types for T3 (Triiodothyronine) baseline and T4 (Thyroxine) IMMULITE testing. This applies to test codes: T3, T4I and THYPALLI. Whereas we had been running these tests on EDTA plasma with a disclaimer, the disclaimer is no longer applicable, and we will need to cancel these tests if requested on this specimen type.
