Cornell Vet CARES Community Cat Spay/Neuter Clinic~2025
**This program was established in late 2018, when retired Cornell professor Dr. Hollis Erb, provided Maddie’s® Shelter Medicine Program (MSMP) at Cornell with funding to serve cats. We would also like to thank the Feline Health Center for their generous contribution to this initiative in the past, as well as the Nancy J. Hamilton Trust.
Cornell Vet CARES Community Cat Clinics are only open to clients with a Cornell Net ID (Cornell employees and students) and provided for intact community cats -- which includes primarily outdoor, free-roaming and feral cats -- as a means of reducing cat overpopulation.
*Definition of Intact=un-spayed and un-neutered
Updated Policy:
- As a Cornell faculty, staff or student, you are responsible for the cats registered (maximum of 4 cats/household).
- If you have successfully secured a spot, it is your responsibility to drop-off and pick-up the cat(s) that you registered. No alternate drop-offs or pick-ups will be allowed.
- If you are helping to re-home the cat(s) you bring, please do not conduct the exchange on campus.
- Your information (name, phone number and home address) will be used for the rabies certificate.
*If you are unable to drop-off and pick-up your cat(s), please do not register for that specific clinic.
Clinics are limited to 25 cats per clinic. All cats must come in carriers or traps that are labeled with both pet and client information. Registration will open about a week prior to each clinic date.
Please Note: Clinic spaces fill up fast! Usually in under 1 hour, so we recommend monitoring our Facebook page (@CUMSMP) for alerts/notifications, as we will post the registration link, as soon as it goes live. We understand the need for these services is high and plan to offer clinics more often, when funding and staffing allow.
We try our best for the link to be live by 8am EST but because our webpages are edited from the back end, it can sometimes take longer or shorter for the Cornell internal system to refresh itself and we have no way of knowing how long that will actually take.
Tip: The registration link may be live earlier or later because of this process. Keep refreshing your page! :)
