(CT) Feline Influenza virus was confirmed by PCR testing (3/29/18) on a nasal swab from a cat sick with signs of respiratory illness and fever, and radiographic evidence of pneumonia. Additional efforts are being made to sequence the virus. The submission form indicated that the owner of the cat had been ill with a respiratory illness and fever the previous week.

5/25/18 Update: Sequencing has typed the influenza virus in this cat as a seasonal human influenza H1N1 virus.
