Brucella abortus Serology Testing Changes
As of June 1, 2018, the AHDC will no longer offer the Brucella abortus Plate Agglutination test or the Brucella abortus Tube Agglutination test. Due to a regulation change of select export requirements in 2017, the need for this testing has been minimal over the past year.
If one of these two tests are deemed necessary and either the Brucella abortus Card Agglutination test or Fluorescence Polarization Assay (FPA) test is not an acceptable replacement, we will refer the sample(s) to the National Veterinary Services Laboratory (NVSL) in Ames, Iowa to meet the testing requirements.
