The college publishes its 2020 Annual Report

"

The Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine has released its 2020 Annual Report, detailing its progress in its key strategic priority areas. This publication comes during a year “unlike any our college has seen before,” writes Lorin D. Warnick, D.V.M., Ph.D.'94, Austin O. Hooey Dean of Veterinary Medicine, in his introduction to the report.

The report showcases how the college has continued its efforts in the six strategic priority areas outlined in the college’s  strategic plan, which include:

  • Educational Innovation and Career Readiness
  • Business and Entrepreneurship
  • Transformative Research
  • Advances in Animal, Human and Ecosystem Health
  • Health Begins Here
  • Strengthening Our Foundation

In his introduction to the report, Warnick acknowledges how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the college and all of its programs. “The response to the pandemic forced everyone to reconfigure even the most basic elements of our work and study, veterinary services and public outreach,” Warnick says. “It follows that the annual report for fiscal year 2020 is slightly different from those preceding it. However, it has been inspiring this past year to see our community respond to extraordinary events with acts of service, innovation, perseverance, and compassion.”
