DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant):

The present study aims to identify a reliable, affordable, and rapid diagnostic method to differentiate environmental Streptococcus uberis, from contagious variants associated with mastitis. Environmental and contagious strains show distinct pathogenesis; differentiating them will help improve mastitis management, reduce antibiotic usage, and improve milk quality on NYS dairy farms.
