Title: Genomic Surveillance to Identify Potential Infectious Agents Involved in Ruminant Abortion Cases in New York
Project Amount: $90,000
Project Period: October 2024 to September 2027

DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant):

Pregnancy loss in ruminants due to infectious causes is a major economic loss to producers. However, a specific cause is identified in only half of cases. This proposal will address this problem by employing a highly sensitive next generation sequencing (NGS) assay to detect and characterize pathogens involved in undiagnosed ruminant abortion cases.
