Title: Future-Proofing New York: Cornell Climate-Disaster-Health-Policy Lab
Project Amount: $51,787
Project Period: April 2024 to June 2025

DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant):

To more responsively ready NYS communities for rapidly evolving impacts of climate change, we propose a Climate-Disaster-Health-Policy Lab that actively identifies and addresses community needs. This novel integrated lab framework accelerates delivery of services by integrating the needs analysis with product delivery in one center. We focus on rapidly evolving climate disasters with health impacts (extreme heat, cold, wildfire smoke) and on partner organizations with statewide impact (county- and state level public health, emergency management, and Cooperative Extension staff). The proposed project expands and unifies existing successful work and positions Cornell PEH as a leader in the climate and disaster space.
