Research Interest

As both a wildlife veterinarian and biologist, I have a broad interest in free-ranging wildlife health and disease. I have particular interests in pathology, infectious disease, and the interface of human and wildlife health. I have worked on diverse projects in a variety of species such as causes of death in cetaceans in the Gulf of Mexico, rehabilitating green sea turtle nutrition and public perception of wildlife rehabilitation, chronic wasting disease in white-tailed deer, bald eagle egg-lay dates in relation to climate change, and surveillance for West Nile virus in mosquito populations.
