Research Interest

My research focuses on the development and optimization of diagnostic sequencing assays and methodologies for viral genomic surveillance, aimed at early pathogen detection. I am particularly interested in virus evolution and the genomic surveillance of emerging, exotic, and zoonotic diseases. My work involves active and passive surveillance of domestic animals and wildlife, utilizing bioinformatic tools and epidemiological data to better understand the ecology of viruses in their hosts.
