When applying to the BBS Graduate Program, applicants will first choose from one of our five concentrations – Immunology & Infectious Disease, Zoology & Wildlife Conservation, Translational Medicine, Population Medicine & Epidemiology, or Molecular & Cellular Medicine - and then can select up to three Research Areas (including an undecided category):
- Bacterial Pathogenesis
- Biochemistry & Cell Biology
- Cancer Biology, Epidemiology
- Genetics & Genomics
- Immunology
- Microbiology
- Neuroscience
- Nutrition
- Reproductive Biology
- Stem Cell Biology
- Virology
- Wildlife Conservation
- Other/Undecided
Applicants to the BBS program are strongly encouraged to contact faculty members prior to applying to the program, however, it is not required. You will find a current list of faculty recruiting new students on this website. Individuals admitted to the BBS PhD program are admitted to the 1st year cohort and not a specific faculty member’s lab. Admitted students are required to complete three lab rotations during their first year before officially joining a lab.
