Cornell RED Veterinary Scholars Program

Overview

The Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine is committed to Reducing Educational Debt and enabling graduate financial independence. The college is addressing this priority with a three-pronged approach: (1) provide individualized financial management and loan counseling; (2) integrate learning opportunities for business and entrepreneurship skill development into curricular offerings; and (3) increase funding for scholarship support.

The Cornell RED Veterinary Scholars Program has been created to provide extraordinary scholarship support to financial aid recipients who are rising third-year D.V.M. students. Three (3) RED Scholars will be selected. Awardees/recipients will receive tuition-free third- and fourth-years of their D.V.M. education at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.

In addition to the traditional selection criteria of academic excellence and financial need, awardees will have unique qualities, experiences, and future goals.

  • Rising third-year D.V.M. students.
  • Applicants must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the time of application and maintain this standard throughout their third and fourth years.
  • Scholarship recipients will act as ambassadors for the college and university, serve as spokespersons for the RED Scholarship Program, attend donor functions with college leadership, and allow the use of their name, photograph, and story in college and university promotional platforms (social, web, print) for the Cornell RED Veterinary Scholars Program.
