Award commends impressive typhoid toxin and potential peptide therapy research (2020)
Graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology faced stiff competition for this year’s Biocytogen Best Research Paper Award. Their work in infectious disease and host immune responses has been recognized in peer-reviewed journals, and faculty members faced the difficult task of selecting the winning entries. First- and second-place winners of this year’s award are Drs. Sohyoung Lee and Abrrey Monreal, respectively.
Award honor exceptional microbiology and Immunology research (2019)
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the College of Veterinary Medicine celebrated this year’s recipients of the Biocytogen Best Research Paper Awards on March 5. In a brief ceremony, department chair Dr. Ted Clark recognized fourth-year Ph.D. student Cybelle Tabilas for her first-place paper, as well as recent graduate Angela Yan, Ph.D. ’19, for the runner-up prize.
Inaugural awards recognizes outstanding host-pathogen research (2018)
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology celebrated the inaugural recipients of an award supporting trainee research in a ceremony at the College of Veterinary Medicine March 7. First and second place winners of the Biocytogen Best Research Paper Award are research associates Norah Smith ’02, Ph.D. ’11, and Lu Huang, Ph.D. ’14, respectively.
