Five faculty and professional staff members at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) have been selected for the 2020–21 State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence. This year, for the first time, all 20 nominees put forth by Cornell won awards.

The honor recognizes faculty and staff at SUNY colleges who demonstrate a commitment to intellectual vibrancy, advancing the boundaries of knowledge, providing the highest quality of instruction and serving the public good.

The CVM winners include:

• Erin Eldermire, head librarian of the Flower-Sprecher Veterinary Library, winner of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Librarianship.
• Antonia Jameson-Jordan, D.V.M. ’99, Ph.D. ’08, senior lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, winner of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
• John Parker, Ph.D. ’99, associate professor of virology at the Baker Institute for Animal Health, winner of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service.
• Kim Potter, director of business operations at the Animal Health Diagnostic Center, winner of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.
• Dr. Brian Rudd, associate professor immunology in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, winner of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarly Activity.

These honors follow the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence announced this spring. Seven Cornell students earned this award, including Lindsay Seewald, D.V.M. ’21.
