NYS Ag Society awards Business of the Year Award to alumni-owned clinic
Countryside Veterinary Clinic, owned in-part by three CVM alumni, Charles Allen, D.V.M. '77, and Peter Ostrum, D.V.M., '84, and Stacey Kenyon, D.V.M. '99, received the Business of the Year Award. The clinic is the largest provider of veterinary services for pet owners, dairy/livestock farmers and horse owners throughout northern New York, serving over 250 clients.
The CVM alumni were honored with the Business of the Year Award at the historic 187th Annual Meeting & Forum of the NYS Agricultural Society on January 9th, which draws a wide-range of producers, suppliers, regulators, educators and promoters. This is the 17th year the Society has awarded the Business of the Year honor which recognizes quality, leadership and innovation in both an agribusiness and single producer.
As written in the Countryside Veterinary Clinic's website, The clinic was originally established in the 1930's, and provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to small and large animals.
Established in 1832, the mission of the NYS Agricultural Society is to foster, promote, and improve the NYS food and agricultural industry through education, leadership development and recognition programs. Arguably one of the oldest organizations of its kind in the United States, the Agricultural Society has played a vital role in the development of the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets, Cornell University’s College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, the NYS Agricultural Experiment Station, the NYS Fair, and the Empire State Food and Agricultural Leadership Institute (LEADNY).
