Four from CVM receive Chancellor's awards for excellence
Four members of the Cornell veterinary college community have received 2015-16 Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence from State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher.
“The Chancellor’s Award for Excellence is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the many faculty across our university system who have gone above and beyond as they educate, mentor, and conduct research alongside our students, as well as the staff whose service to SUNY is of the highest caliber,” said Zimpher, in announcing the awards. “It is an honor to recognize excellent work across the SUNY system. Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients."
The Cornell CVM honorees are:
Wayne A. Davenport, Director of Facilities Capital Projects, who received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service
Dr. John W. Hermanson, professor of zoology, who received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching
Dr. Margaret McEntee, the Alexander de Lahunta Chair of Clinical Sciences and
professor of oncology, who received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service
Dr. John C. Schimenti, professor of genetics, who received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship
The Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence are presented annually to faculty and staff in community colleges and four-year colleges and universities across the SUNY system. The honor provides system-wide recognition for consistently superior professional achievement and encourages the ongoing pursuit of excellence.
