Natasza Kurpios appointed Udall Professor
Dr. Natasza Kurpios has been named the Robert Hovey Udall Assistant Professor effective November 1, 2012. This professorship was created by a gift from Mrs. Mary Udall in her husband’s name, with the approval of the Cornell University Board of Trustees; the Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Dr. Kurpios to this professorship at their January 2013 meeting. Dr. Kurpios was appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Molecular Medicine in the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School. Currently, her research program addresses problems in developmental biology, specifically the mechanisms that drive intestinal coiling and vascular development of the midgut.
