In an additional Cornell twist, College of Veterinary Medicine alumni Drs. Jim and Linda Peddie, both from the Class of 1965, helped producers bring Water for Elephants to the screen, as the onsite veterinarians ensuring the health and safety of the elephants. The alumni are featured in the May/June issue of the Cornell Alumni Magazine.
The film chronicles the life of a Cornell vet student who's about to sit for his final exams when his parents are killed in a car accident, prompting him to drop out and join the circus.
