Originally from northeastern Ohio, Dr. Oxford moved to Upstate New York in 2002 to pursue a PhD in cardiac arrhythmia mechanisms at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. Her research project focused on inherited arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy in both humans and in the Boxer dog. Upon completion of her PhD, Dr. Oxford achieved her lifelong goal of attending veterinary school and graduated from Cornell University in 2012. She completed a small animal rotating internship at the Veterinary Medical Center in Syracuse the following year, and has returned to Cornell as a resident in Cardiology. Her interests include mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias and mitral valve disease.
