The study of Biochemistry and Cell Biology ranges from molecular interactions, protein folding, and membrane biophysics, to development of organ systems and whole animals, to how immune cells are activated and function to protect the host against infections. Fundamental research, using cutting-edge technologies, allows researchers at Cornell make significant advances in broad scientific disciplines such as immunity, reproduction, cancer, diabetes, neurobiology, and developmental biology. These advances hold the key to future development of drugs and therapies that will improve the health of animals and humans.
