I was raised in Texas, after moving to the U.S. from Brazil at the age of five. Being fascinated with science and animals at a young age, I decided to pursue a B.S. in animal science at Cornell University. At Cornell, I worked in Dr. Patricia Johnson’s laboratory, which focuses on ovarian cancer research using the hen as a model. Currently, I am pursuing a DVM at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine.
I enjoy playing tennis and the violin, yoga, camping, and travelling abroad. I am also passionate about sustainable agriculture and spent my last summer working on an eco-village in Brazil.
Although I am still in the process of shaping my interests in veterinary medicine, I know that I want to pursue a career that gives me a role in improving human health as well as animal health.
