I am originally from Enniskillen in Northern Ireland and am currently in the fourth year of my Veterinary degree at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge. I received my BA from Cambridge last year having intercalated in Pathology in my third year. This included a virology project on Murine Norovirus and I followed this up with another project during the summer vacation looking at emerging viruses in bats. My interests lie mainly in virology, epidemiology and in particular emerging disease and in Global Health Policy.
In my spare time I enjoy gardening, cooking, woodcarving, DIY, origami and fishing. I am also a big rugby fan and like going to watch Ulster matches whenever I am at home.
While I am currently interested in a number of potential career areas, ideally I would like to be in a position where I can influence the veterinary field and policy in a wider context.
